Monsoon Song

As the meandering branches scratch and sway,
Drifting leaves perform ballet.

The monsoon breezes stir and grown
as chances of stormy weather are full-blown

Its been so long since you slipped away
Ten years gone by in such disarray

That rainy night when it all went wrong
I never stopped listening to our Monsoon song

The upbeat song which made me smile
Oh, how that song was so worthwhile!

But, now the branches have all fallen down
I'm a little bit lost in my own hometown.

So while the monsoon breezes stir and groan
Its different now, I am on my own.

Habitat – My First Performance Venue

In 2016, although I had written extensively, I had never actually performed open-mic poetry. Writing had always been my primary form of expression, with speaking coming second. So, when I decided to take the stage for my first performance at The Habitat in Khar, I was nervous, especially doing it alone. I wanted to build my confidence, and this seemed like the only way to do it. Coincidentally, 2016 was also the year The Habitat was founded. It became the place where I made my debut as an artist. The Habitat quickly became a safe space where I forged friendships with fellow poets and artists. I still remember the moment that turned my life around—stepping onto that dimly lit stage, microphone in hand. Exploring Sifar: A Tale of War and Humanity

   A play produced by Shabd Theatre Group, Sifar is a Hindi play written and directed by  Sachin Malvi, which is based on the Syrian war. It recently made its debut at NCPA theatre on 1st December 2024.    The play takes place in Damascus (the capital of Syria) and depicts all these characters adapting to chaos and demonstrating resilience.  Taking place in Damascus adds a layer of authenticity to the story as this  city has witnessed immense  destruction.   The play portrays the struggles of different individuals who are trying to rebuild their lives amidst the ongoing devastation. Named after an Arabic word that means zero or nothingness, the title symbolises the hollow emptiness left after the war while also representing hope for new beginnings.    Many overlapping stories of different people’s lives blend poetic scenes and theoretical storytelling.
